A special "alertness troop" will be organized in every Israeli school. The troops will consist of teachers, who have the right to carry arms and are able, in case of need, to repulse terrorists on the school's territory. Israeli police will teach these troops everything necessary, including shooting. Every troop member shall be provided with a bullet-proof vest.
As Uliy Edelstein, Deputy Minister of Absorption of Israel, informed, the number of repatriates to Israel reduced almost by 20 thousand people during 2000-2001. In 2001 42 thousand people came for permanent residence to Israel, including 30 thousand people from the former USSR. Ukraine takes the first place for the number of repatriates, second goes Russia. In 2000 the number of repatriates made up 60 thousands, including 45 thousands from the former USSR.
Israeli officials signed an international agreement that will allow Israeli manufacturers and exporters spare hundreds thousands dollars. From now on Israeli goods won't undergo additional weight and completeness control on destination. According to the signed agreement, the control will be exercised by the professional Israeli organizations having an appropriate international license.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Israel, 20% of teenagers of draft age are freed from the army service. Most of them are from ultra-religious communities. 4,5% of the draftees are discharged due to the state of health, 3,5% - because of criminal past. There are more discharged from mobilization among girls - 25%. Most part of girls, discharged from army, prefer "alternative service".
The budget cuts, worked out by the Ministry of Finance of Israel, will result in a strong blow to the Ministry of Absorption. "If the cuts are realized, new repatriates will again dig in garbage at markets", - said Shoshana Ron, Head of the "Association of Bukhara Natives".
Gilel Shakhnovich, representative of the Engineer Union, noted that during the last 11 years about 100 thousand engineers-repatriates came to Israel, but only 30% of them managed to find a job in their profession. The cutback to the Union will noticeably reduce their chances to find a job. If the cuts come into effect, the fundig of repatriate organizations will be reduced 6 times.
