The new repatriation project to Jerusalem from Ukraine and Moldova is called "Aliyah Support in Jerusalem". Svetlana Fedorenko, absorption coordinator in one of the capital's districts visited different CIS countries to meet with potential repatriates. She told about the advantages of living in Jerusalem, social insurance and employment. Following her advice three families have already repatriated to Jerusalem.
On request of Ukrainian companies a former Kievite Yosif Heifets makes hydrophobic powder for filling up depositories of radio-active wastes. On his recommendation, a factory of hydrophobic powder is being built on the Ivano-Dolinsky basalt field in Rovny oblast.
Projects of Dr. Yosif Heifets attracted much attention of potential investors at the exhibition of scientific and technical achievements in Beyer-Sheve. This creates favorable perspectives for cooperation between Israeli and Ukrainian companies wishing to introduce new technologies into life.
A group of students from Kharkov institutes of higher education visited Israel through the "Taglit" program. In the city of Netania they met students from the "Aviv" ulpan, took part in a joint concert, shared their impressions from excursions and numerous meetings in this hospitable country. Several thousands of boys and girls from CIS countries will visit Israel this year.

The work of the organization committee for the Assembly of the World Congress of Jewish Scientists is in full swing. The committee consists of famous Israeli, USA, European, and CIS scientists, public figures, leaders of Jewish organizations. Ukraine is represented by professors A.Rosenfeld, S.Eydelman, I.Livshits (International Solomon University), G.Anzelevich (Kiev-Mohyla Academy), and I.Fialkov (National Polytechnic University). The Jewish Confederation of Ukraine is represented by I.Zisels.
The Assembly opening is planned for the beginning of 2003.
Discussion on the topic "Does Sheptitsky deserve the title of the Righteous of the World?" took place on January 24, 2002 in Jerusalem. It was attended by the "Association of Israeli-Ukrainian Relations", the Association of Ukrainian natives, Knesset deputies, representatives of the Yad vaShem Institute, scientists-historians, Holocaust researchers, former ghetto and death camps prisoners.
The participants discussed different points of view on awarding the title "Righteous of the World" to the Lvov metropolitan Andrey Sheptitsky, who rescued 150 Jews during the war.
Recently, Yad vaShem Museum received two more evidences from rescued Jews. This information is totally new.
