Kiev. A group of Israeli architects visited Kiev in the beginning of February. Together with Ukrainian architects they will participate in the construction of the memorial complex in Babiy Yar district.
On February 5 the delegation members met with the Kiev Chief Architect Sergey Babushkin. They also examined the territory allotted by the Kiev city administration for the construction.
Israeli architects discussed the Memorial complex concept with leaders of numerous Kiev Jewish organizations. The meeting took place in the Kiev Institute of Social and Community Workers.

Kiev. The Kiev Institute of Social and Community Workers held the first session for new managers of kheseds on February 13-20. Previously a similar course was organized only in the Saint-Petersburg Institute of Social and Community Workers. The session was attended by 28 khesed managers from the CIS countries, including Vladivostok, Birobidzhan, Irkutsk, Almata, Baku. The session participants were read a brief course of lectures on the topic "Introduction into Social Work".

Odessa. The 5th business meeting of the "Home Care" service Professional Council was held under the direction of Rut Averbukh (Jerusalem). It was attended by kheseds representatives from Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Kishinev, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Karaganda, and Zaporozhye. The Odessa charity center was represented by Felix Greenman, manager of the "Home Care" service.
The Council members visited kheseds of south-western Ukraine: in Zhytomir, Vinnitsa, Gaysyn, Ternopol, Khmelnitsky, Korostyshev, Popelnya. They were informed about the work of "Home Care" services, and gave practical recommendations about home care and documentary work.
The meeting was dedicated to working out new methodical recommendations. Service managers shared their experience and innovations, got acquainted with the state of "Home Care" services in provinces. The "Gmilus Khesed" Odessa charity center's participation in the meeting was very helpful, as long as much time was dedicated to questionnaire design, time-keeping, new methods and literature on these issues.

Lvov. On February 20 the Idealist Organization of Ukraine held a meeting near the Shevchenko monument. The main meeting slogans were "Jews Away from Ukraine!" and "Jews Away from Lvov!". The organizers and participants expressed their indignation with the life in Ukraine and stressed their anti-Semitic position. The meeting attracted attention of almost 200 Lvov citizens.
