The talk with Yuly Edelshtein took place during the days of the International Congress of "otkasnikies" in Moscow. The Deputy Minister was not only the Congress honorable guest who represented the State of Israel but also a full-time participant as well. The present member of the Israeli cabinet was once the Zion prisoner - he served three years of imprisonment in the Soviet times for Hebrew teaching. On arriving in Israel he became an active participant of the Zion forum of Soviet Jews - a public organization which supports new repatriates, helps them integrate into the unknown society, acquaints this society with its new members.
