The Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ukraine Anna Azari, having cut the ribbon, thanked those present for their coming to support Israel despite a Sunday morning, snow and bad weather.

The Holocaust as a unique tragedy of Jews in Europe organized by the national socialist regime in Germany with the support of various collaborators is a considerable problem of a modern culture. Did the international tribunal in Nurnberg fulfil its task? It is possible to provide guarantees against and form of genocide? The developments on the territory of Germany in 1933 - 1945 demand a thorough study, interpretation, careful preservation of the memory about the Jewish people's Catastrophe for our descendants. The countries of modern Europe and the European culture on the whole attribute big attention to learning and teaching of the Holocaust history. We consider the Catastrophe's history as the page in the history of the Jewish people, as well as the component part of the Ukrainian and European history of the XX century.

I was going to attend the meeting held, according to my editor, in connection with the visit by the representative of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel, but I didn't know for sure what was ahead of me. I pictured myself the press-conference of a respectable person from the mentioned agency who would tell the writing fraternity about all places of interest in the country of three religions...
