The courts in Belarus have a rather interesting attitude to the anti-Semitic literature. On November 22, 1999 the President of the Jewish Religious Union of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Dorn sent a letter to the State Publishing Committee with a request to take measures against the publishers of the book "War after laws of meanness". Article 71 of the Criminal Code of Belarus envisages responsibility for violating national and racial equality of citizens. The situation received its continuation. As Lukashenko was going to visit Israel at the beginning of 2000, the Belarus television twice broadcasted an interview with the President of the Union of Belarus Jewish Public Associations and Communities L.Levin. The most titled Jew of the country expressed his hope that the state would be able to protect their citizens-Jews.
