In mid-April, when Israel marks the 54th anniversary of its existence, Russian Jewish community gave start to a large-scale campaign of solidarity with Israel. Only Moscow-held meetings, press-conferences, concerts attracted over ten thousand people. Similar events were held in more than fifty Russian towns. This is only the beginning. Russian Jewish Congress (RJC) established the Committee for solidarity with the people of Israel, which heads became academician Vitaly Ginzburg, president of Moscow Jewish community Guennady Khazakov and director of the House of Cinema Yuli Gusman.
