THEORETICALLY - FRIENDSHIP, PRACTICALLY - SUBCONTEXTED

It's not so simple to dwell on the theme of Ukrainian-Jewish relations. Firstly, this theme has been well discussed and has a definite conceptual direction; both peoples allegedly treat each other with respect, without mutual prejudice. Though there used to be cases of provoked misunderstanding, but those were episodes deserving no attention today. At present everything seems "okay", only "somebody somewhere with us at times" allows anti-Semitic pronouncements, but those who discredit the Ukrainian people are very scarce in number. God bless, our country is devoid of xenophobia. Secondly, this is a delicate theme. Our Ukrainian documents have lost a "fifth line", that's why is it polite to specially remind about it to people who do not advertise it themselves? Who should be considered a Jew when every person has got a right to freely and personally identify his nationality or to be free from any at all? |
