Dnepropetrovsk. The evening of music dedicated to the memory of an Israeli singer Ofra Khaza took place in the city JCCenter. The singers of JCC "Merkaz" band and "Of Simkhes" group of the community center named after Rosalind Gorvin as well as others performed her songs.
The second part of the evening was devoted to the survey of modern Israeli music. The original Eastern composition "Bokha Lekha" was performed by P.Datskovsky (tarbuka), S.Falkovskaya (violin), M.Kozlovsky and K.Akulovskaya (guitar). Listeners discovered the works of Shlomo Artsy, of musical bands "Gaya", "Tipeks", "Mashina" and others.

Kiev. The museum of Great Patriotic war history hosted a presentation of German issue of Yakov Khonigsman's book "Catastrophe of Jewry of Eastern Ukraine (Jews from Eastern Galitsia, Western Volyn, Bukovina and Zakarpatje in 1933-1945)".
The book was published in Lvov in 1998. Professor of Constance University Erkhard Roy Vin contributed to publishing the German issue. Simultaneously he celebrated the 10th anniversary of cooperation with Ukrainian universities as well as of his publishing activity, the result of which became books about the life of Jews in our country. 70 lecturers and students from Constance University arrived with E.Vin in Kiev. They held a number of meetings, visited Babiy Yar and finished their stay with the concert of their choir in Philharmonics.

Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky. Jewish fund of Ukraine has held Sholom-Aleikhem's readings in the city. They started last year. The program also included the opening of a plaque on the monument to Sholom-Aleihem, speeches by director of the Museum of a Jewish classic Nina Zakharchuk, general director of JFU Arkady Monastirsky, chairman of city Jewish cultural society named after Sholom-Aleihem Tsilya Gekhman and the concert of "Neshome" Jewish song theater.
Sivan 20 (May 31) prayers in memory of Khmelnitchina's victims were read in synagogues of Ukraine after a many years' interval.
Chief Rabbi of Kiev and Ukraine Jaakov Dov Bleich sent a prayer's text, written by the witness to the tragedy Rabbi Yomtov Lipman Geller (1579-1654), to leaders of orthodox Jewish communities.
Kiev. The European day of Jewish culture yearly held by European Council of Jewish communities and European "Bney Brit" took place in the Ukrainian capital.
On the initiative of Jewish fund of Ukraine and Kiev organization "Bney Brit", this holiday was for the first time celebrated in Kiev. Its program included the presentation in the National Philharmonic Society of Ukraine of a vocal cycle by D. Shostakovich "From Jewish folk poetry" performed by "Nigunym" band, the laureate of an International contest of Jewish music bands.
