For the 9th time a holiday of Pushkin's poetry took place in Ashkelon. The presentation of a post-card series by artist Dmitry Grossman became the main event. These are the illustrations to "Yevgeny Onegin" with the text in Hebrew translated by Avraam Shlensky.

Ophthalmologists of Jerusalem's hospital "Khadassa Ein-Kerem" have operated on the resident of Ukraine, righteous man of peace Sergey Drevetsky to restore his vision. During the war S.Drevetsky, risking his life, saved two Jews hiding them in his house. 20 years after the shock he lost vision. The Jewish community paid for Drevetsky's trip to Israel, and the hospital covered the operation expenses.

The deputies of Knesset Marina Solodkina and Sofa Landver addressed Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to interfere into the process of considering submitted by them bills on cancellation of restrictions on living wage allowances for pensioners-repatriates departing abroad.
The letter states that restrictions, introduced at the beginning of this year, disregard the situation with elderly repatriates whose children reside, in many a case, in USA and Germany and graves of their relatives remained in the countries of Exodus.
The deputies underline that the institute of insurance violates elementary human rights demanding from people who receive allowances to come to the its offices and "report" on the purpose of a trip abroad. If the purpose doesn't satisfy "Bituakh leumi" - the allowance is not granted.

The director of "Gesher" theatre Yevgeny Arje became an honorable doctor of Jewish University in Jerusalem. He has three times been a laureate of Israel's theatrical academy in the nomination of "Director of the year". His last work is the play "Slave" after the novel by I.Bashevis-Zinger. Arje is its producer and author of the stage adaptation.
