Rovno. Fascists murdered more than 17.5 thousand local Jews - old people, women, children - in November, 1941 in the suburbs of the city in Sosenka tract. A mournful ceremony dedicated to the 60th anniversary of this tragedy took place at the "Sosenki" memorial. Moses Fisch, war veteran, holder of the soldier's Glory order, leader of a Jewish religious community with a heavy heart told about the terrible events of November 7 and 8, 1941. Speakers called everyone not to forget the innocent victims of genocide and make all efforts in order not to let the tragic events of the war repeat. Afterwards all ceremony participants prayed in memory of the fallen.

Melitopol. The program "Khesed on wheels" of the charitable fund "Khesed Velvele" has been working since February 2001. It services three districts of Zaporozhye oblast: Akimovskiy, Priazoskiy, Melitopolskiy, where 31 fund's clients live.
Clients are monthly supplied with food sets. Those who need treatment are provided with drugs and consultations. The "Khesed on wheels" library also does a significant piece of work.
Many are happy they have lived till those times when one can openly speak about Jewish holidays, sing Jewish songs, and recall parents, who used to go to the synagogue, learn prayers, read the Torah. People thank "Joint" and "Khesed Velvele" for financial help and care.

Khmelnitsky. A gala awarding of the International Rating "Gold Fortune" nominees was held on November 7-8 in the Palace "Ukraine". Representatives of 42 countries participated in this rating. Participation in "Gold Fortune" means recognition of non-ordinary achievements in certain spheres. Igor Ratushny, Head of the Khmelnitsky oblast charitable fund "Khesed Besht", was awarded in the nomination "Innovations in the Social Sphere".
The fund's staff work is aimed at satisfying all needs of Jews living in Khmelnitsky and Ternopol oblasts. The high appreciation of Khmelnitsky "Khesed Besht" fund and his Chief Executive will become the incentive for further perfection of its work which is targeted at satisfaction of all needs of Jews living in Khmelnitsky and Ternopol oblasts.
Fund's staff will realize their motto "We are always glad to meet you!" with renewed energy.

Odessa. The community festival of Jewish book was held in the city for the fifth time already. Its participants were the community center "Migdal" and many culture and educational city centers. The festival was organized with "Joint's" considerable support. Three totally different exhibitions in the Gorkiy scientific library, Art and Literature Museums were held as part of the festival, as well as contests in literature and art.
