According to economists from Chamber of commerce, the Israeli economy will lose approximately 12-15 billion shekels as a result of introducing a new day-off.

From now onwards there will be no "absentees without leave" in TSAKHAL. There will be only deserters. Previously, a soldier was declared a deserter only after 14 days of his absence in the unit. Now this term will be shortened up to 24 hours. This novelty is caused by the fact that the number of deserters imprisoned in military jails increased over the last year. Most of the punished soldiers are recidivists. Now the prisoners will receive, as is the case in civil custodies, moral support and help to get absorbed in the army anew.

If earlier a soldier was not to receive a salary during imprisonment, now he is to get it retroactively upon his arrival to the unit.

Administration of the Service of national insurance has adopted a decision to cease insuring foreign workers illegally residing in Israel.

Besides, this decision also covers allowances to Palestinians and foreigners illegally staying in the country. The aim of this innovation is to reduce the amount of an illegal immigration to Israel and to husband hundreds of millions of shekels.
