Ukraine witnesses a new rise of anti-Semitism. Nazi-type editions like the newspaper "Idealist", books by E. Khodos, B. Vovk, M. Shestopal and others, attacks at synagogues, vandalism in the cemeteries are complemented with growing anti-Semitism of intelligentsia. This is proved by Nazi-type publications of the journal "Personal" issued by Interregional Academy of Personnel Management as well as by other declarations in its support (see "Demokratychna Ukraina" from 07.06.2002).

Over all years of your organizations' existence you have never officially jointly addressed the leadership of the country though press with a request to put an end to arbitrary violations of the Constitution and other laws of Ukraine pursuant to which national chauvinists should bear responsibility. The time has come when the absence of joint resistance to anti-Semitism may lead to an anti-Semitic bacchanalia. We ask you to jointly address the President, Cabinet of Ministers and Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a demand to stop unpunished stirring up anti-Semitism in the country, to institute, after the legislation of Ukraine, criminal proceedings against those guilty in attacking synagogues, committing vandalism in the cemeteries, publishing and distributing Nazi-type literature.
