Negotiations between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel Shimon Peres and "new Palestinians" have led to a most heated discussion within the Israeli society regarding Norwegian agreements. Many precipitated to declare about reviving the Oslo process and ideas of a "New Middle East". Prime-Minister Ariel Sharon has approved of Peres' meetings with leaders of PA. Though one of his main mottos was "no talks under terrorist fire". Besides, Sharon repeatedly announced during the election campaign that Arafat himself had actually denounced Oslo agreements.
