BORIS BORODIN
Main page To print

Jewish communities of Big Boston and Dnepropetrovsk make friends for over ten years. Arrival of Boston's representatives in Dnepropetrovsk is always a big holiday. Many important and necessary things have been done; joint projects have been implemented in the interests of both Jewish community and the entire city. This includes a women's clinic, Center for handicapped children, diverse educational projects implemented jointly with a Dnepropetrovsk Jewish school, the program "Elder brother, elder sister" - a bridge between people of different generations and, of course, winter and summer camps children are so much fond of.

The help coming from Boston's community is always concrete and purposeful. This year has also witnessed a start of a program on immunizing children and teenagers. Our communities opened a special Center for immunization in one of Dnepropetrovsk children's polyclinics. Thousands of new-born babies and teenagers take medical examinations and receive necessary inoculations there. The center has been functioning since summer. Its solemn opening took place during the visit of Boston's delegation. Among the guests were high-ranking officials of Jewish communities from both cities, as well as the adviser to US Embassy on political issues Jason Highland. He highly estimated the efforts of Jewish communities of Ukraine and USA in a noble cause of rendering help to all inhabitants of Ukraine. The new joint project is another step in this direction.
