COUNCIL OF JEWISH ORGANIZATIONS' LEADERS CREATED IN UKRAINE

The conference of leaders of 14 Ukrainian Jewish organizations to include all regional, city and local organizations of various activity has elected a coordinating and representative body - Council of Jewish organizations' leaders of Ukraine. The Council is not a legal person; all its members are elected chairman in turn.

Jewish leaders have passed a decision to hold a congress of Ukraine's Jews in March 2003. The Council includes: director of student culture center of Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus "Gilel" Joseph Akselrud, Chief Rabbi of Ukrainian Jewish Congress Moshe Reuven Asman, chairman of All-Ukrainian association of "Makkabi" organizations Mark Belostotsky, Chief Rabbi of Kiev and Ukraine, president of Association of Jewish religious organizations of Ukraine Yaakov Dov Bleich, chairman of All-Ukrainian association of war veterans Grigory Ginzburg, executive director of Ukraine's United Jewish community Eduard Dolinsky, president of Religious association of progressive Judaism' communities of Ukraine Alexander Zlotnik, chairman of All-Ukrainian association of Jews - former prisoners of ghettoes and death camps Igor Kogan, president of Jewish Council of Ukraine Ilya Levitas, co-president of Jewish Confederation of Ukraine Sergei Maksimov, general director of Jewish fund of Ukraine Arkady Monastyrsky, president of All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress Vadim Rabinovich, deputy chairman of Ukraine's Jewish culture society Alexander Feldman and chairman of Association of Jewish mass media of Ukraine Mikhail Frenkel.
