The Union of Jewish Religious Organizations of Ukraine was founded in 1992. Today, it incorporates 62 religious communities from all of Ukraine's regions.
Objectives and tasks of the Union
Building up efforts and coordination of actions of the Jewish religious organizations of Ukraine to profess and spread Judaism
Plenipotentiary representation and protection of the interests of the religious organizations at all levels in Ukraine and abroad
Assistance to Jewish religious organizations:
- in keeping the laws of Judaism;
- in supplying religious objects and literature;
- in carrying out educational programs;
- in funding the activities of organizations and communities through setting up domestic or drawing foreign charity funds;
- in establishing international contacts and ties with Jewish and other communities and organizations world-wide;
- in protecting religious and other human rights;
- in carrying out an inter-denominational dialogue;
- in assisting communities and organizations to preserve, renovate and keep in order cemeteries, sites and facilities that are linked with the Jewish history and culture.
